Laura Marano from the disney channel show, Austin & Ally, is one to watch. With the show approaching it’s final episode it’s a chance for Laura to star in new projects resulting in more red carpet appearances! I can’t wait to see whether she brings it or not!
Here are three of her top recent looks and one not so great look…
Top 3 Looks
2015 CMT Music Awards
I love this vampy look on Laura. During this year compared to the last couple she’s experimented with more grown up styles, less mini dresses and more jumpsuits. Love the pop of purple and the cut of the shoes make her look a little bit taller. The capelet is so in right now and her loose waves are a nice contrast to the formality of the jumpsuit.
Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards
I like how this outfit combines the girly style of a crop top and mini skirt with strong lines and ‘tough’ materials such as the leather of the crop. She’s kept it classy with just a little midriff showing. This outfit makes Laura’s legs look really long which is an advantage as she is on the shorter side. The bright red clutch is a nice addition.
Bad Hair Day Premiere
I cannot tell you enough how much I love the sherbet orange colour of Laura’s pants! The white crop and shoes keep the look light and I prefer it much more than if she had worn black or grey. The beachy hair works well with this relaxed look.
Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards 2015
This was a big misstep from Laura who often gets it right on red carpets. Her tan matched the orange carpet rather than looking like a summer glow and her hair is a little overstyled for the occasion, the big curls seem a little dated. While the colour of the dress was alright it wasn’t fitted properly and the material didn’t photograph well. It came across as a shiny ice skating dress.

Hello Readers! The Style Files is where I’ll be analysing a star’s style for the year giving you a look at their best and worst looks…
An incredible singer who captured the hearts of Gleeks, Lea, is in real life a stylish contrast to her mustard sweater and knee sock wearing ‘Rachel’. At a petite height, Lea often dresses to her strengths. Showing off her long legs with high heels and wear body skimming dresses that don’t add volume, she creates an illusion of height. Bright, bold colours pop against her tanned olive skin and her hair is often in soft waves creating diversity in the flamboyant coloured clothing she wears.
3 Best Looks of 2014
- 2014 Kids Choice Awards
Proving that colour can work well for her, the peach mini dress looked exceptionally tailored and fitted for her. Her hair was loosely upstyled into a faux bob and she accentuated her legs with nude coloured platform shoes, finishing the look with a nude clutch.
- Sons of Anarchy Season 7 Premiere Carpet
Lea explored a more sinister side acting in an episode of the gang centred show. Structured waves acted a perfect contrast to the white tea length fitted dress, showing off her cleavage in the classiest way possible. The off the shoulder sleeves were an ode to the recent trend, wearing strappy black shoes with a gold clutch to accessorize.
- 2014 People’s Choice Awards
One of her best looks of all time, Lea showed that simplicity can be much more effective than over styling. A neutral make up look and a paired back braided updo allowed the glittery hot pink dress to shine. Paired with strappy pink shoes she proved that she is queen of the red carpet in short mini dresses.
Biggest Disappointment of 2014
2014 MET BALL
Lea, Lea, Lea. That is all I can say. Everything she did right all year was thrown out the window when she wore the gold, lame look. Everything and Anything that looked good on her she ignored. The long gold train making her look very short and the layered fabric at the front added bulk. The dress didn’t fit her and the top of the dress did nothing to accentuate her chest. The gold accessories came off as matchy matchy and her hair would have been best styled down. Very disappointing from Lea who has had an almost stellar red carpet run.
